“How integrated does the actual Guard Force need to be with the Security Integrator? I understand that the Security Management Staff is the main contact but does it help if the guards are also involved?”
SECURITY DIRECTOR: “Since the guards are typically the ones to respond to a malfunction or problem call from a department, I feel they should all be integrated into the daily routine by being trained on system basics.
Simple things to look for before the Integrator is called:
- does the strike click at all even though it may
not release - does the card reader light turn green when
the card is presented or does it stay red - is the door closing properly so the lock is engaged?
These simple tests can save service call money and speed up the repair process by allowing management to call the proper vendor to begin with.”
